The Old Rectory Guesthouse was originally a Church of Ireland Rectory built in 1896 for the church of St John's, Malone. We are located in South Belfast, 10 minutes walk from the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI), 10 minutes walk from the American Embassy/Consulate and a 7/10 minute bus ride to Queen's University and the city centre. We are well known for our award winning breakfast (Aga-Rayburn best breakfast winner 2005/6). Breakfast is served at linen covered breakfast tables and comprises; freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly cut fruits & berries, prunes, dried fruit/nuts, grapefruit segments, cereals and cheeses. Breakfasts include; Ulster breakfast, (vegetarian option available) scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, omelettes, coddled eggs, venison, wild boar/apple, or saddleback pork with sun dried tomato sausages, herb scramble/cream cheese bagel or porridge with cream, Irish honey and Irish Mist liqueur, shredded duck confit en cocotte and portobello mushroom melt - click menu above to see full menu.
We use local and, where possible, organically produced foods and make our own raspberry jam, whiskey marmalade and wheaten bread.
Morning papers are available daily, and visitors can relax throughout their stay in the Drawing Room where there is a library of books on Ireland's history and culture, or, in summer, in the garden. There is also free Wi-Fi and internet access available.
