Malone

The name Malone in Irish is Maigh Luain, meaning Luan’s plain or meadow of the lambs.

This double en-suite room is located on the ground floor (for disabled access) and overlooks the garden to the rear of the house. It has a king size bed (5’x 6’6”) and a double sized shower.  There is a comfortable sofa (with fully sprung mattress for conversion to single bed) and writing desk.

 


Myrtlefield

Nearby Myrtlefield park is the site where one of the Stewart family built a gentleman’s residence and named it for his wife,  Myrtle.

This double en-suite room is located on the first floor and has views of the Belfast Mountains. It has a king size bed (5’x 6’6”) with a bath and shower in the en-suite.  There is a comfortable sofa (with fully sprung mattress for conversion to single bed) and writing desk.

 


Deramore

Nearby Deramore Park, which in Irish is Pairc Dhoire Mor, means the Great Oak Wood. 

This room is located on the 1st floor. It is a double room with private bathroom (the bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and is not shared with anyone else, bathrobes are provided).  The bed is a 4’6” x 6’ 6” double bed and the bathroom has a double shower. There is a comfortable armchair and writing desk.


Newforge

Nearby Newforge lane was the site of an early iron works in 1630, which in the 1700 also became a bleach works/green.

This double en-suite room is located on the first floor and overlooks the garden to the rear of the house. It has a super king size bed (5’6” x 6’6”), with a bath and shower in the en-suite.  There is a comfortable sofa and writing desk.


Maryville

Nearby Maryville Park, was where the Wilson family had a small estate called Maryville. Tradition says it was at Cranmore, beside Maryville, that King William rested when on his way to Belfast in 1690 and the tree where his horse was tied is still to be seen.

This room is located on the 1st floor, with views of the Belfast Mountains. It is a single room with private bathroom (the bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and is not shared with anyone else, bathrobes are provided). The bed is a generous single (3’6” x 6’6”) and the wood panelled bathroom has a large shower. There is a comfortable armchair and writing desk.


Belvedere

Nearby Belvedere Park, Pairc Belvedere in Irish, was home to an estate located in the old townland of Malone Lower.

This room is located on the 2nd floor with views of the Belfast Mountains.  It is a twin en-suite room, the generous single beds are 3’6” x 6’6” and the bathroom has a double shower.  There is a comfortable sofa and writing desk.

 


Bladon

Nearby Bladon Park, in Irish Pairc Bladon, was where a small estate was located. It was named for a village in Oxfordshire on the River Glyme, which is notable as the burial place of Sir Winston Churchill.

It is a small twin en-suite room with single beds and a writing desk, the bathroom has a double shower.
